Pupil Premium
Holy Ghost Catholic Primary School prides itself on the achievement of all pupils.
The Pupil Premium funding received is carefully used to support children’s learning and well-being, with a particular focus on children who are, or have in the past 6 years, been eligible for free school meals, adopted children and any child looked after by the local authority.
The Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) is additional funding from the local authority/government to help schools raise the attainment of children, of all abilities, from low-income or other disadvantaged families and to close the gap between them and their peers.
The aim of the entitlement is to enrich the curriculum and ensure that no child misses out on the opportunities that will progress their education, emotional needs and overall performance.
Children who qualify for pupil premium may be entitled to the following:
- Free School Meals
- Subsidy towards a school trip / residential trip
- Funding towards branded school uniform items
- Funding towards school-run before/after school clubs
Children who have been in care, and children who have a parent who is or was in the armed forces, are also entitled to pupil premium.
